In Europe there are many options of places to stay that we don’t really have in the UK. One of the best ways to tour in a motorhome is to use the vast Aire network that exists in many European countries. France has always lead the way in with many thousand Aires in all areas of the country.
This summer we are planning a trip which will include Belgium and The Netherlands. I have now received my Aire guide for this region.
The Aires can be used to either stay overnight or simply empty grey tanks, toilet and top up with fresh water. Often the cost is zero.
The only guide I know of that is in English is “All the Aires” from Vicarious books. Their great publication comes with colour photos of each location, a brief description and the ever important map coordinates that will lead you directly the correct location when inputted into the Sat Nav.
The book also comes with a fold out sheet map that is invaluable when route planning.
I’ve been using the French version for several years and stayed in some great locations often for free but at most just a few Euro.
