Briare Motorhome Aire/Stopover
Rue de Vignes
Centre-Val de Loire
Located next to the 662 m long aqueduct this is a great Aire. The Town of Briare has more than one Aire but this seems to be this best location. A walk across the spectacular aqueduct is a must. Spanning the Loire River it was built in the late 1800’s to join two canal networks. The Loire also offers superb riverside walks. These can be accessed from the aqueduct via a staircase that descends from the tow path. The Aire offers a level surface in a quiet location with a Flot Bleu service point. There is a €2 charge for this payable by card.
Local commerce in the town centre is only five minutes away. This offers all you may require. We had a meal at the restaurant by the canal bridge and the set meal was fantastic. As a not of caution the canal bridge on the approach had a five ton weight restriction. However it may be possible to approach from the opposite direction.
If you choose not to stay at the Aire, a visit to the aqueduct is a must.
