Brockmill Farmhouse, Beal, Nr Holy Island, Northumberland
This is a Caravan Club Cl so for members only. Set about a mile inland from Holy Island, this small site offers five hardstanding pitches with electric hook ups. As you approach Holy Island from the A1 tur left along the drive straight after the level crossing. This is a working farm and the hosts are very welcoming. There is a toilet to the rear of the farmhouse that all are welcome to use.
There is also B&B at the farmhouse for those without tourers. Holy island is about a mile further on and is undoubtedly the reason that you would be staying here.
We visited the local pub/hotel for sun downers. This is the Lindisfarne Inn www.lindisfarneinn.co.uk back at the junction with the A1. To our surprise there is a dog friendly room that we were grateful for on this chilly spring evening. We are far more used to sitting outside and rushing our drink in the cold. Try the “Farne Ale” a great blonde local beer that is extremely quaffable.
Holy island and Lindisfarne will be another post when I get internet again.
