Remember the fascination of a real fire?
Well, at Forest Fields you can have a camp fire. You can either take your own fire pit and logs, or borrow a fire pit, and buy logs on site. Fantastic!
This is not the only attribute that this site has. It has great pitches, both hard standing and grass and it has, arguably, one of the best toilet blocks in Wales! There is a lake with canoes. where the kids of all ages can swim when the weather is appropriate, and under supervision. Also there are so many public footpaths, mostly leading into the hills that you will be spoilt for choice.
Hundred House is a small village, and there is a mostly greenfield walk to the village that follows through the woods. In the village there is a friendly pub where you will be made most welcome. In the local area is Builth Wells, which is a local market town, and has all the shops you will need, as well as being the home of the Welsh showground. A little further away is the Spa Town of Llandrindodd Wells, which again is worth a visit, and offers all the services you may require as well a lovely walk around the lake.
Within easy driving distance is the Elan Valley. This is a series of reservoirs and dams that supply water to Birmingham (via an extremely long pipeline!). There is a visitors centre that explains how it all works, with a lovely riverside picnic area. Also in this area is the Red Kite centre at Gigrin Farm, I really recommend you to take a look at this at feeding time, you won’t be disappointed!
