Kielder Caravan Park
Leaplish Waterside park
After scouring the net for a water side location to stay at Kielder this was the only one I could find. Set mainly in the forest (there are some pitches in the open) looking down over the lake where the trees allow.
We were welcomed here by the most helpful warden I have ever seen at a campsite. I hope he reds this and carries on being informative and helpful with all future visitors.
As I mentioned above lots of the pitches are in clearings carved out of the forest, this can make TV difficult to get. My understanding is that there is TV at all the electric columns and leads are available at reception.
Next to the site there is an indoor swimming pool (extra charge, different owner) and a pub called the Boat Inn, Also located further down the hill is the Kielder Birds of Prey Centre.
The lakeside way footpath passes through the lower level giving access to the round reservoir cycle and foot path.
Remember that this is really remote and a dark sky location. If you get a clear night the stargazing is amazing.

This is a must do if you are up that way. I guess that booking in high season would be essential.
