Lucksall Caravan and Camping Park
Situated just ten minutes South-East of Hereford this site is possibly as good as you will find in the UK. Located next to the river Wye, with many pitches having a view of the river this place oozes quality.
Although this is a deceptively large site, it is sub divided down into many areas using mature hedges and trees; this gives you the overall feeling of somewhere far more intimate.
The pitches in most cases are extremely large, plenty of room for even the biggest of units. The grounds are immaculately kept with a team working tirelessly to keep it that way. There are three separate facility blocks situated around the site and these are likewise well kept and frequently cleaned.
There is a bar restaurant next to reception with outside seating next to the river. The menu sufficient for most and when we triad the food it was like everything else, excellent.
The staff, of which there seemed to be a lot, were pleasant and helpful, a warm welcome and some helpful info on arrival, nothing was to much trouble.
There is a river side walk over a stile at the bottom of the site, and for the more energetic the wooded hillside on the other side of the road offered many hours worth of trails to explore. Beware the hill is very steep in places.
There is canoe hire on site, this seemed to be operated by a third party, although I didn’t ask I am sure that reception would be more than willing to advise.
A bus stop is located right on the entrance with a regular service to the great city of Hereford. Hereford is well worth a visit, check out the Mappa Mundi and Chained Library at the cathedral or the Cider Museum just off the centre of town.
