Pearl Lake Leisure Park
Wow. What a great place this is.
The park is mainly given over to statics. The touring area has about 15 fully serviced pitches. There are flexible drain hoses to place over your drain tap, water and TV aerial cables supplied.
The whole park is, as the name suggests, built around a lake. The lawned areas are beautifully maintained and the whole place is clean and tidy. The facilities are second to none. They include, a 9 hole golf course, fishing, a football pitch, 2 play areas, a small BMX track, crown green bowls, a zip wire, a den building area with wood supplied, a nature watching hut with binoculars, dog walking field, dog wash with hair drier and a bar restaurant where the food is good value and excellent quality.
The staff are friendly and helpful.
Shobdon has one pub, the Bateman, at the other end of the village and a shop that has all you need.
Opposite the Bateman pub is a public foot path that will take you up a long drive to the church and if you carry on up the hill you will reach Shobdon Arches, these are what is left of the original church.
There is a full circular footpath that would take a couple of hours. Details of this are on a map in the middle of the village.
This really is one of the best.
