Wells Touring Park
We only stayed one night in Nov 2011, however I have to say that I was very impressed. The site is kept in immaculate condition and the toilet block was as good as I have seen. The pitches are a mix of grass and hard standing all of which appeared to be more or less level. It appeared that all pitches came with electric hook up and apparently some with their own water and drainage. The site is easily accessed from the main road to Cheddar from Wells. It is within walking distance of the town centre and a bus passes the gates to the site. The owner was more than welcoming and offered good local info when asked. This site is adults only. However for those of that qualify as adults and find a weekend when the kids are elsewhere then this would be a great place to spend it.
Not too distant are the town of Glastonbury and Street.
Glastonbury (apart from its world famous festival) is an interesting place to visit with an eclectic mix of shops and pubs with an outstanding view point at the Glastonbury Tor this is a must for the agenda.
For those with a desire to get retail therapy then the town of Street offers the retail outlet village located on the old Clarks shoe factory. With many high street names and vastly discounted prices don’t miss out on the chance to grab a bargain or two.
We will definitely be returning.
